DIKUW - Definitions (cont): Wisdom
Wisdom refers to the ability to use knowledge and understanding to make decisions and take actions that enable achievement of goals and objectives in a way that minimizes current adversities and avoids future problems, while maximizing positive gains and their sustainability.

I'm not sure that wisdom is as easy to define as this.
YES it is about taking a long view.
Yes wisdom is acquired through exposure, practice and experience, but there are other key qualities.
Yes wisdom goes beyond the pragmatics of knowledge and the cognition of understanding - to weigh consequences, to consider sustainability, to factor in unintended consequences.
Yes wisdom accounts for a wider context, has a longer time horizon, considers alternative outcomes and consequences.

I suggest that weighing consequences, considering alternative outcomes/consequences and sustainability, and factoring in unintended consequences are important strategies related to the wise use of knowledge and understanding.
wisdom is divine, something we strive to, but not quite reach
